BEN Fox is another young midfielder to have made his way to the first team from Burton Albion’s Academy.
After spending five years coming through the ranks, Ben earned his first professional deal in the summer of 2016 and, after some very encouraging performances in pre-season, was rewarded with a first team debut against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup as a substitute.
Fox joined National League North side Tamworth on loan for most of the 2016-17 season to help aid his development at first team level and further productive spells last season with Solihull Moors and Gateshead in the National League readied him for a more prominent role in Albion’s first team squad for the 2018-19 campaign.
He scored his first league goal for the club in a 1-0 win at home to Bristol Rovers that season.
A knee injury in pre-season followed by the curtailment of the entire season due to the COVID-19 pandemic put paid to Fox's 2019/20 season but following months of hard work and toil, the popular local lad came back into the first-team fold the following campaign.
Fox left the Brewers in the summer of 2021 and subsequently joined Grimsby Town.
