Gaffer up for award after impressive October
Brewers boss Gary Rowett has been nominated for SkyBet League 2 Manager of the Month Award for October following Albion's stunning away form saw his side collect 12 points from a possible 15, with nine points coming away from home in wins at Wycombe, Exeter and Chesterfield.Â
The nominations for the
Sky Bet League 2Â
Manager of the Month Award
for October are:
James Beattie (Accrington Stanley)
The belief in his players that he maintained throughout a difficult opening to the season was repaid with eight points from five October fixtures, including Stanley’s first two wins – against Bristol Rovers and Morecambe.
Wayne Burnett (Dagenham & Redbridge)
Inspired his team to three wins and a draw which lifted them to the fringe of the play-off places. Has modified the Daggers’ style and their greater patience and passing was evident in the 3-1 victory over then leaders Rochdale.
Colin Cooper (Hartlepool United)
A stunning month which swept away negativity and fear in equal measure. Four wins from five matches, an 11-3 for-against tally and a host of fine goals exemplified his team’s attacking prowess at home and especially away.
Gary Rowett (Burton Albion)
Three convincing away wins at promotion-chasing rivals, Wycombe Wanderers, Chesterfield and Exeter City contributed to 12 points from 15 in a series of fine performances and finally dispelled his side’s play-off defeat hangover from May.
The winners will be announced on Friday November 8 2013
The judging panel comprises former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley; Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins
