JACKSON IRVINE'S SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY REACTION

7 March 2017

JACKSON Irvine says Burton Albion's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough is an excellent point in a bid for survival.

The 24-year-old said: "It's an excellent point. Were finding ourselves in this situation a lot recently and I think a lot of people questioned whether our away form would be the thing that cost us our place in the Championship this season.

"We have proved we are able to do the other side of the game. We showed at the start of the season that we can attack and play expansive exciting football but the time has come to play a different way and adapt to a different style and I think we have managed to do that really well in the last few weeks and the results have reflected that."

He scored his first goal since Burton Albion's away win at Rotherham United last year to take his tally to nine goals for the season.

He said: "Luke Murphy said in the dressing room before the game that he had a feeling it would be today.

"Sometimes that's just the way it works out, someone has a gut feeling and as the manager said before it's unusual for me to not be in the box attacking set-plays."
