MCLAUGHLIN EXPECTS A CAGEY GAME AGAINST FOREST

10 March 2017

JON McLaughlin is expecting a cagey game against Forest, not the free flowing, open affair that marked the match at the City Ground back in August.

Albion’s first-ever game in the Championship was a narrow 4-3 defeat away at Forest.

The Albion keeper said: “We hope it will be different from the opening game of the season. From a defensive point of view, we hope it will be a much tighter affair. At the start of the season it’s easier to be freer and easier in the way you play. At this stage in the season and where both cubs are it will be a much more cagey affair.

“We have changed the way we are playing and we will want to keep it tight and frustrate them as much as we can and then impress our style of play on them. We certainly don’t want to park the bus or anything like that. Even in the games we have drawn we have threatened.

“But it’s a massive game for us and then we have Brentford following on from that. Two home games where we could get two very important wins and we would certainly like to continue this unbeaten run to the international break.

“We can create an almost FA Cup tie feel for these teams coming here and make it a difficult day for them. Six games at home out of the last ten – that’s what we need to do.”
