MATTY PALMER SIGNS NEW DEAL

17 August 2016

BURTON Albion midfielder Matty Palmer has signed a new two-year deal with the Brewers.

The 21-year-old has already made four appearances this season for the Brewers and picked up an assist in last night's victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

Matty made 32 appearances in total last season, including a loan spell with Oldham Athletic.

He scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Bolton in the first round of the League Cup.

Nigel Clough said: "Matty has signed a new two-year contract with us so we're pleased he's committed.

"He was one of those that we earmarked and thought he might actually find it better in the Championship with better players around him and a bit more time on the ball.

"He's certainly a big part of our plans, it is a big turnaround for him he's only young as well so there's plenty of time to develop."
