ANDY GARNER'S DERBY COUNTY REACTION

21 February 2017

ANDY Garner hailed an important point and a battling performance as the Brewers earned a point at Derby.

Garner said: “Proud is an understatement, the players have worked incredibly hard. We came for a point and it’s unbelievable that we got it. The gaffer said straight after the game in the changing rooms before anything that it was a fantastic clean sheet. We did really well and restricted Derby too not many shots on target. We felt they would be more of a threat because they’ve been scoring of late for fun. It’s been an emotional day for all of us, with it being our first time back here. Little Burton took four points off Derby County, we loved our time here.

Garner also praised captain John Mousinho after the game: “Mousinho was outstanding against Norwich as was he today, he always gives his all for the side when he plays. He knows his capabilities and always goes again. He also revealed how the players won’t do much between now and Friday’s game against Blackburn: “There’s no point doing much, we will have them all in tomorrow for the ice baths then Thursday we will go for a walk and then see who’s available for Friday as the players have worked their socks off in the last two games. We had 35% possession against Norwich and had to dig deep, we had to do the same today and we did.”
